I chose the Gallente for my race because they've produced great businessmen throughout the years. I also love AI, or Artificial Intelligence, and the Gallente were pioneers in the development of AI.
Bloodline
The pure Gallente seem closest to my idea of creating a business character. The others just didn't match my idea of a wealth-seeking character.
I chose male, 'cause... well, I'm a guy. It just seems easier to play a character whose gender I can actually relate to.
Customization
Oh, this was fun. I eventually chose this appearance:

The portrait is up there at the top of this post. I think it's pretty close to what I want, but I might see if I can tweak it over the next few days or weeks.
Name
My favorite movie is The Matrix, and I love the character of Neo, or Mr Anderson, or Thomas Anderson. It's why I created the appearance above. Unfortunately, all the good names were taken, so I ended up choosing Thom Anderson. It's as good a name as any. I'm thinking Thom Anderson, Tycoon... Has a nice ring to it.
And then it was all over. My character created, I'm standing in my room, or office, or whatever it is.
I think I'll go and explore a few things now before I start doing the tutorials.
